Kyle Oyloe was there in spirit.

Taylor Chessel: Asshole

NOTES:

Alice Cooper was in town so we lost a few jammers over that.  Pat Geisland came down to say hi. Joel McDowell sat with me for a few seconds then went home.  Mike Serbousek and I talked music for a while.

Kim Hovenstat recorded about five songs from various players and songs.  Of course most of them featured D J, who's now back in her life again. I was in the ending of Come Together but she didn't post the one Ryan wanted.  What I Like About You.

Plenty of drummers galore and a more slant toward punk rock and metal.  Stu Fondle and I talked about doing Silver Machine, the Hawkwind number but we never got around to it.  He was part of Kyle's old band a Motorhead Tribute band. and they did a few numbers.  Nobody could hear the singer.

I was part of Julie And The Mad Dogs segment replacing Mike as mentioned above.  We did some extended versions of the songs at hand.  Ryan was having a ball jumping around the stage.

It was a good time.

Kyle remains missed.

Dan Hartman got his blue tele guitar back with some help from friends who snooped around the Springville/Anamosa area and found it and got it back to him.  However, Dan was playing a candy apple red telecaster.   The guy who took got arrested and is in jail.  I'm sure a slap on the wrist and the douchenozzle  will be out stealing more guitars for his meth habit.

I did check out the last half hour of Four Day Creep Friday Night.  I didn't guest star on drums since I got there late.  I also checked out four bands the next night.  Billy Bourbon and the Country Boys, 5 Of Hearts, Boot Jack Band and Sky Pilot.  I probably should have said hi to Doug Spinler while up there but I really don't like bothering musicians when they play. Boot Jack Band is new country, the drummer actually played Soultone Cymbals. Or I think he did.  They had a nice deep crash to them.

Troy Harper is a better drummer than bass player.  Which means he's pretty bad ass on drums.  He makes playing drums so easy.

I think Herm wanted to talk to me after The Country Boys got done playing but I had aspirations of moving on to the next place to check out the band.   There might be talk about maybe spelling Herm for a night if Billy wants a replacement.  But I can be had at the right price or if I have a night off.
