Special thanks to Virginia Harlow for the use of her amp. It really did made me sound like Neil Young.
In a way.
A lot of people were there but Dave Bonham, Katy Merrifield and Patrick Ticklenburg couldn't hang around long enough and nobody really wanted to hear the meth guy close up the show. So I went home as well. It was Freddy Jones' birthday as well. Thought I could use him for some of my songs.
Virginia brought up a small Marshall amp with a lot overdrive to it, It didn't fit Logic And Lies very well but Street Fighting Man and especially Cinnamon Girl benefited from a grungy metallic sound. Wang Dang Doodle was debuted and people seemed to love that Captain Beefheart/Howling Wolf sound. For an encore, I tried out Gold Dust Woman but without a female singer to it. I thought perhaps Kimberly might have been up there or Julie but I threw a lot of power chords to the ending. I know Julie would have hated that version anyway but again, I got a good response of out people.
Brian Bries came up after me and was the sweet innocent voice to my Avant Garde growl. I later added some cowbell to M.J's version of White Room
So far, the Acoustic Adventures have been well received despite my ragged performances. Even had some guy asking if I had a card to promote myself, to which I told him, it's a hobby but you're free to throw me a five spot just in case you want to.
Bob Corritore took note note of my photo shot from last night and posted it on his site. To which I'm honored to join the long line of blues artists and new artists to show off his T Shirt. Complete with the Wayne Gretzy look too. LOL. I hope I can make it to the Rhythm Room when I'm out in Phoenix, if ever I get out there again. Thank you!
