Notes: It was the first time I played at the Artisan Sanctuary in three months. This time out, I only did originals from Town's Edge Rock. Kind of a kick off to celebrating the 35th anniversary of that album that came out in June of 83. Time has really been passing.
Shawn told the crowd that he has been sober from booze for six months now. Congratulations brother! He tried to do a You Tube version of Drift Away but the video didn't turn out well. He attempted a second try as I was heading home.
It was one of the bigger jam crowd there in a while. Glen is fast becoming a regular there and the duo of Darryl and Phil as regulars should help the Sanctuary's jam big time over the summer.
Glen wanted to do a version of Everybody's Talking but since we had a lot of jammers we were limited to four songs and he did other songs instead.
Stuart didn't have a very good night. He attempted to do Crazy Circles from Bad Company but couldn't find the right key to play it, He rebounded to do All I Can Do Is Write About It but ended with LA Freeway. He had good songs but sometimes you will have nights that things will not click.
Darryl and Phil did six songs, two from Tom Paxton, My Ramblin Boy and The Last Thing On My Mind.
Phil Bo King took the early slot and went home after Shawn's set. Allen McGrew brought two guitars worth eight thousand dollars but he didn't play any songs.
I'll be playing on the kick off to the Freedom Festival in Marion on the 23rd of June with a few of my Artisan Sanctuary friends, with me playing at 2 PM. It will probably be a solo act. I might run the idea off to Julie if she wants to join in on the fun with Dave or Ryan in tow. Jim mentioned that this will be a paying job (YAY!). I'll be granted to play a half hour set, maybe even longer if Julie is part of the equation or if she decides to go with Dreams Of Arcadia or Guitar Dave. Julie makes anything sound much better.
